Committed to Alaska’s Beauty
At Katmai Wilderness Lodge, we care deeply about protecting the wild landscape that surrounds us. Our eco-friendly lodge runs on wind and solar power to help reduce our impact and keep the area as untouched as possible. With no roads and no outside traffic, the only sounds you’ll hear are the wind, the waves, and the wildlife.
The beauty here isn’t just in the bears and the coast—it’s also in the land itself. Katmai is home to over 700 plant species, from colorful wildflowers to lush coastal trees. During summer, fireweed lights up the valley floors with bright magenta blossoms, creating a scene that feels like it’s glowing.
During your stay our lodge, you’ll see wildflowers like Bluebells, Chocolate Lilies, Saxifrage, Wild Iris, and Cow Parsnip. Towering Sitka Spruce, Willow, Alder, and Balsam Poplar grow across the landscape, adding to the rich, green beauty of the region.
This is nature in its purest form—vibrant, alive, and waiting to be explored.
